Waymark is a set of free homeowner tools and guides. This page explains what happens with your information when you use the site. We wrote it in plain language so you do not need a lawyer to read it.
No accounts, no logins
You do not create an account to use Waymark. There is no username, no password, and no profile. Because there is no login, we are not building a file on you.
Your tool data stays in your browser
The checklist and the home maintenance tracker save your progress using your browser's own local storage (a feature called localStorage). That data lives on your device only. It never gets sent to us and it never leaves your browser. If you clear your browser data or use a different device, that saved progress will not carry over, because we never had a copy of it in the first place.
Email newsletter
If you choose to enter your email address to get a checklist or updates, that address is passed to a third-party email provider that sends the messages on our behalf. We use it to send you the content you asked for and occasional related updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We do not sell your email address. The provider processes your address under its own privacy terms.
Analytics
We may use a privacy-friendly analytics tool to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are popular. Any data collected this way is anonymous and aggregate. It is about traffic patterns, not about identifying you personally.
Affiliate links and cookies
Some links on Waymark are affiliate links, including links through the Amazon Associates Program and similar networks. When you click one of these links, the network may set a cookie so it can credit us if you make a purchase. Those cookies are set and controlled by the affiliate network under its own privacy policy, not by us. See our affiliate disclosure for more.
Children
Waymark is meant for adult homeowners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the effective date above. Meaningful changes will be reflected here.
