Sod is sold by the roll and by the pallet, and each standard roll covers about 10 square feet. Measure the area you are turfing, add a small waste factor for trimming around curves and edges, and the calculator returns the rolls to order.
Sod is perishable, so order it to arrive the day you lay it and install it fast. A 5 percent waste allowance is usually enough since sod trims to fit, but round up to a full pallet if you are close to one.
